We have been giving free presentations, demonstration landscapes and workshops throughout Miami-Dade County since February of 2000. During that time, we have developed some mutually beneficial partnerships. They are as follows:
.

Citizens for a Better South Florida successfully acquired funding for three new demonstration landscapes in 2001 and four more in 2002.
.
.
.

Regis House provided logistical support for the installation of our FYN Demonstration Landscape at Citrus Grove Elementary School in Little Havana.

The Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) has become one of our new  funding agencies for the Miami-Dade FYN program. DERM's  mission is to restore, enhance, conserve, and manage the air, water and land resources of Miami-Dade County for the health, safety and enjoyment of South Florida residents and visitors. Please take the time to visit their website

Another one of our new funding agencies includes the Miami-Dade County Solid Waste Management Department. For more than 50 years, the Department of Solid Waste Management has served the Miami-Dade community.  Today, they are the largest government owned and operated waste collection and disposal system in the southeastern United States.

The South Florida Water Management District also recently provided funding for a large FYN Demonstration Landscape at the South Miami-Dade Government Center.

The Campus & Community Alliance for North Miami-Dade voted to approve a Florida Yards Initiative. As part of this initiative, St. Thomas University--one of the Alliance partners--has agreed to train students each semester to be Florida Yard Advisors. These students will then use their community service hours to teach homeowners in North Miami-Dade how they can convert their existing landscapes into Certified Florida Yards.
